NEW INFORMATION: THE PROJECT

Although a more modest Rat Shooting park could be built, I think that a more futuristic and innovative park would guarantee a faster market penetration, ensuring the investment and creating a style like those of other elite sports, see the part on golf, skiing and water sports, etc., where the user understands and values the expenses required to engage in these activities.

My original idea is to foster competition, because we should not forget that this is a new sport, but the players (hunters) are sportsmen that play in other forms of sport in which the gun is the main element (of equipment), like a racket is in tennis, or the club in golf.

This invention is also a social invention, as we should not forget the serious problem that these rodents represent, but at the same time, with the creation of this sport, many people will find that will to win that is innate to man, however much some segments of society try to suppress it. We need new yet intelligent incentives to try out our skills, to compete and inter-relate.

All the materials that should be used are: concrete, iron or steel, wood and bullet-proof glass, to make the building in question more glamorous as a precedent for other similar buildings in different countries or cities. The building would be approximately 25 metres high to the shooting posts, 2.5 m from the shooting posts to the food court and 7.5 m to the roof. The roof will have an automatic opening mechanism for warm, good weather nights. The frontage of the building will be 100 m and it will be 100 from back to front too, resting on 4 columns and iron beams, where we have an area of 1000 m2 that will be a Restaurant-bar by day and a discotheque-night club by night. Access will be via 4 lifts.

As the park will be on a site of over 20,000 m2 for security reasons, there should not be any problems with the opening hours with the local and regional authorities, as it would be an activity that should not have noise problems with the neighbours or problems of traffic noise as the car park would be on the site. There would not be any problem with the guns either, as they would only be fired in one direction and that would be the direction recommended by an expert in the matter. There would be an armoury somewhere in the tower for storing the guns, 25 or 30m above the ground of course, to guarantee their security in the case of hypothetical theft. The Rat Shooting Park would also have a team of security guards from a company that would be responsible for the welfare of the customers and for co-ordinating with the team of referees or judges of the match and the maintenance and catering personnel.
This new activity, in turn, can be divided into several economic sub-sectors: ammunition sales, gun hire, membership fees, sale of merchandising, sale of photographic material, food and beverages and betting (depending on the country), but the part that strikes me as the most interesting are the 1000 square metres to be used as a Night Club in a single area, as it would be a single isolated plot, 35 m above ground with waitresses and dancers dressed in accordance with the idiosyncrasies of the sport-show and this would be a real experience.

Given the lack of available space of this kind in the centre of big cities, I think that many people would be interested in taking part, both as competitors (shooters) and as companions or sponsors of either national or international teams. Each player or club member could bring up to 20 guests to the leisure area or food court, the security team would check everybody coming into the facility at the access door (lifts).

The contact with nature in such a large space will be interesting for many people looking for something different.

I would also like to work with ecological organisations or associations, because it is problem that concerns everybody and as they know that everything that has been done to date to control the rat population has only made things worse, with the consequent problems for other species in their food chain that succumb to the poisons used by both the authorities and private individuals. I think that these ecologists could act as judges of whether the spirit of my invention-patent helps to control and eradicate the sources of this pest, as this is the objective that we all pursue.

Our company is a financially modest company and cannot develop the potential of this project, which is why I enclose this information as I think that companies or other entities can be found that are interested in Rat Shooting.
